Fresh off his fifth appearance on Conan,
Shane is about to record his first one hour special before heading to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland to do a month run of his solo show at the world's largest arts festival. Originally from La Crosse, WI, Shane Mauss moved to Boston in 2004 (at the tender age of 23) to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a standup comedian. In less than three years, Shane caught his big break when he was awarded
Best Standup Comic at HBO's US Comedy Arts Festival in 2007. Comedy Central Presents: Shane Mauss debuted in 2010 and was accompanied by his first CD
Jokes To Make My Parents Proud with Comedy Central Records, which was named in the
Top 10 Albums of 2010 by Punchline Magazine. Shane's other TV credits include appearances on Conan on TBS and
Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Comedy Central's Live at Gotham, Showtime's Comics Without Borders, the BBC's The World Stands Up, and in what is easily his strangest television appearance to date:
Playboy TV's Night Calls. You may also know him as a regular on
The Bob and Tom Show. Since puberty Shane has wondered: why are relationships so complicated? Why do we bother? And why God, why are we all so damn horny!? Still awaiting answers, Shane recently began studying evolutionary theory to explain our desires, attractions, and mating behaviors. He then turned what he found into jokes. Ironically, Shane began telling dick jokes so he wouldn't have to go to college and now attends college to write more sophisticated dick jokes. Don't miss Shane as he heads back to Boston, his spiritual comedy home for an incredible night of Stand-up and erudite dick jokes!
Thank you very much for your interest in the show.
